Even today Owada Shimizu's water is used for daily life and farming, its output remaining unchanged during dry spells so that local farmers need not pray for rain.
In addition, at the side of the spring there are three densely grown zelkova trees over 300 years old whose trunks and branches are completely entwined with an old wisteria estimated to be 150 years old. This old tree in the "Owada Forest"is registered as one of the prefecture's green cultural properties.
