In the mid-14th Century, the holy man Kagamihan founded this place and Yuki Munehiro is believed to have achieved enlightenment here. There appears to have been some connection with the Shirakawa Yuki family.
As with Ryuzo Temple, it has a great number of subsidiary temples.

Quietly in place on the grounds of the cemetery are the graves of Sendai clansman Sasaki Hironosuke and Aizu Clansman Niwa Shingo.
