Everyone knows that the Gold Merchants Kichiji exchanged gold in Oshu Hiraizumi, and guided Yoshitsune from Kyoto to Hiraizumi.
During the Shoan era (1171-1175), they traded in gold dust, and once as they were going back and forth between Hiraizumi and Kyoto, robbers attacked and killed them. The villagers felt great sorrow, buried them here, and held a requiem service.
