In the first year of the Meiji Period the temple was abandoned, but the main hall remains on Ho-un Temple grounds.
The principal object of worship was the Kokuzo Bodhisattva. During the Keicho Era (1596-1615), the Holy Kaichi revived the Ho-un Temple, it is said.
In Keicho 6 (1601), it was gilded with an inscription of Kaichi's first prayer.
