Shirakawa Lord Matsudaira Yamoto's household (1693-1742) established Eiju Temple as the seat of its Buddhist Memorial. When the authority of the Yamato family came to an end, the temple was moved to Himeji and the monk remaining at Eiju Temple built this.
In the first year of the Meiji Period there was a fire that destroyed the documents, and so forth, so we don't really know the details.
