The mausoleum and tomb of the first Shirakawa feudal lord, Niwa Nagashige, is located in the middle of a hill behind Lake Konan.
When Komine Castle was renovated, the town underwent some changes, and this infrastructure of the current town of Shirakawa was formed by Niwa Nagashige who died on March 4, Kanei 14 (1637) in Edo Sakurada Kamiyashiki. He was 67. His body was brought to Shirakawa for interment.
