Sekizo Gorinto has been designated an important national cultural property.
In the late Heian Period, after winning the battle of Zenkyunen No Eki, Minamoto Arimitsu controlled Oshu Seito, the entire northeast area, from Kohei 6 (1063), and 25 generations controlled the current Ishikawa area for about the next 500 years.
Arimitsu’s offspring, the second Ishikawa generation, erected this tower for Motomitsu.
The andesite spire is 180 centimeters tall, lacks the jewel-shaped stone on top, and is an important aid in understanding stone work of the late Heian Period.
