The Sugama Tofukuji Shari Stone Reliquary Monument is a nationally designated historic site.
There is a niche in the acroterium at a height of 180 centimeters, and the roof is topped with a finial and dew basin surmounted by the jewel-shaped finial point.
There is a hole in the center of the pedestal in which ossified remains were placed, and inside we see a stone embellishment; a small stone statue of Dainichi Nyorai sits in the hole. This is a rare construction that expresses the thinking of the Maitreya sect in the Kamakura period.
