On March 28, 1980 (Showa 55), the Akudo group of burial mounds was designated a prefectural historic ruin.
It consists of a group of nine recumbent mounds with stone chambers.
Previously there were 11 graves in the group, but two have disintegrated.
Tumulus No.1 has an accessible large stone chamber that is approximately 20 meters in length. Things such as iron weapons, knives, and nails have been dug up, and it is thought to have been constructed in the early 7th century.
