At the approach to Sekisan Mangan Temple, where Yoshitsune prayed for victory in battle, on the rock face near the entry there are beautiful Kannon relief sculptures carved in the natural stone.
The name Suzuri Stone comes from a large natural stone about three meters long with a 20-cm in diameter depression, that many people think Benkei used as an inkstone, or suzuri.
During the Genroku Era (1688-1704), when life was especially harsh, it is said that people thinking We want food and health and a stress-free life・came to worship and beseech the Kannon every day.
It is presumed to have been made during the mid-Edo Period, and roughly in the center there are three Amida sculptures welcoming the spirits of the deceased.
