Shimotsuke and Mutsu area borders are inside the grounds of what remains of the Shirakawa Seki, so this is called Seki Myojin, and Nishoseki Myojin. In the 315th year of the Kofun Era, by imperial command, the enshrinement was donated by Shirakawa Kuninomiyatsuko (Chokui) and Tendai Tama. The main building of the shrine was reportedly dedicated by Sendai’s Lord Date Masamune, and the column of the main shrine bears a crest of three lines of Kuyo stars.
